During our conversations with customers and prospects we’ve realized that what is truly missing is a highly versatile multi-function display (MFD) that can be multi-purpose and versatile. An MFD that provides architecture control and diagnostics that is a cost-effective solution that would add value to the boat-builder or end-user.
With that in mind, leveraging a small display that uses TFT technology mainly used in consumer electronics would drive the cost down making it a very attractive and cost-effective solution. A small 4.3 inch display, such as ACTI-Vision 430, provides many benefits to the marine industry. Benefits such as providing multiple CAN channels and configurable inputs/outputs for controlling various NMEA2000 architectures for watercraft. An MFD that is a ruggedized human-machine interface (HMI) built specifically for outdoor/marine applications.
